On Jan. 24, 2019 the Ted Bundy Tapes was made into a documentary on Netflix. It's no secret that these tapes caught American's attention but they kind of... became obsessed. Although Ted holds high in a popularity contest with other serial killers, there are so many more that the world knows little to nothing about. This is my take on the top 10 infamous serial killers.

Pictured above is a famous scene of Ted Bundy at the courthouse with thousands of camera's and Americans watching at home. The man was reading Bundy's charges out-loud to the murdering of multiple females. This was just the beginning of the infamous Ted Bundy case.
10: John Wayne Gacy
“Gacy was nicknamed, Murder Clown. He murdered 33 teenage boys over a six year time period.” -Online Psychology Degree
It's no secret that the average American fears clowns, especially during Halloween. Haunted houses fill the country with "carnival" themed scares and bloody clowns hold knifes. Dark, I know. But have you ever wondered where this fear of creepy, murder clowns comes from. I will tell you, it originated in the 1970's with a evil man named John Wayne Gacy. Gacy would dress up as a birthday clown and perform fun clown tricks at young boys birthday parties. Contrary to popular belief Gacy would not kill at the parties but he would use them as a source to prey on his next victims. Crazy, like really crazy. #ClownCrimeCrazies
9: Elizabeth Bathory
Elizabeth Bathory is easily the most famous female serial killer. She was the countess of Hungary and was claimed to have over 600 victims. She literally believed that the "blood of young woman," would make her look younger. She preyed back in the 1600's in a kingdom who kept her killings a secret to the public. I bet you can imagine why she was named #TheBloodyCountess
8: Delphine LaLaurie
“She became known as one of the most famous female serial killers in Louisiana history. ”- Muderpedia
LaLaurie's murder's were acts of complete heinous. Like many in the south and in the 1800's LaLaurie was a slave owner. She tortured them to death and when the towns-people in New Orleans found out they fled her property only to find horrific evidence. You can go to her property on ghosts tours in New Orleans and visit her grave site. The tour guides tell the participants to leave the graveyard and property walking backwards so they never turn their back to have her horrific ghost haunt them... now that is #CrimeCrazy.
7: Charles Manson
So he doesn't technically qualify as a "serial killer," because he convinced others to kill people for him- but in my book that is pretty #SerialKillerish. He was most defiantly a cult leader and he would have young men and women in the 70's live on his desert property in California and convince them of praising the devil and to kill for "their leader," Yikes. If you haven't seen Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, you should, it is a Hollywood take on this crazy cult leader.
6: Jack the Ripper Jack the Ripper was a famous serial killer living in London in the 1800's. He preyed on female's with harsh backgrounds and home lives, furthermore, female's who know one would really be looking for. He was never identified, that is #SerialKillerCrazy.
5: The Zodiac Killer Much like Jack the Ripper, the Zodiac Killer was never identified. He operated out of northern California in the 1960's and would prey on young couples. He was literally such a smart and good serial killer that he would send letters to the police and mess with them. He would openly admit that he was the serial killer and give them hints on where he would be killing next... he was never found, but their are all these conspiracy theories about him and other cases... but we will get to that in the near future.
4: Mary Ann Cotton
That's right- this is female number three on my top 10 list. Let me break a #CrimeRumor and tell you that women go way back in history in being horrible serial killers. Mary Ann Cotton was a serial killer in the 1800's. She would kill her lovers and ex-husbands by poison. It is known that she killed over 20-ex lovers. She was later publicly hung in her home-town in Europe.
3: Ted Bundy
Yeah, he is not my number one. I mean don't get me wrong he is completely horrible and up there but in my eyes there are two serial killers worse. Bundy preyed on young woman. He would lure them in because he was a good looking guy. Additionally, he was going to law school, had a girlfriend and was very smart. He ended up killing and burying over 60- victims and he denied it until the day he died- literally. The week he was going to the chair in Florida's death penalty chambers he admitted to killing all the girls he was accused of and many more.
2: Jeffrey Dahmer
Ohio native and very famous serial killer, Jeffrey Dahmer killed young men and his gay-lovers. He killed from 1978 to 1981. He killed a total of 17-men. Believe it or not he is an Ohio State Buckeye Alumni and well, he not only killed his victims but he... um.. ate them. #CrimeCrazy
1: Robert William Pickton
According to the podcast, Crime Junkie, Canada is notorious for some very intense serial killers. Robert William Pickton makes it number one on my list because the crimes he committed was disturbing and the way the Canadian police handled it was even more... disturbing. Pickton would prey on young woman who had a history with drugs in the Vancouver downtown east side where the homeless and drugs were living. Pickton ended up killing over 30 women and it took over 10-years to finally convict him, even though all signs pointed in his direction. He was an owner of a pig farm outside of Vancouver and... well... I bet you can imagine where it was that he took his victims after he killed them. He is the only serial killer on this list that is still alive and he is going to trial for out on parol in three-years. Stay safe.
